Drink more water!

You've heard it before, but it's true. Our bodies need water.

Our cells rely on water to communicate properly with each other, so that our body can perform functions like digestion and circulation. These functions are directly related to the transportation of nutrients throughout our body.

I can think of tons of corny metaphors but I think the message is clear: water + body = healthy

Drinking more water helps your kidneys. Your body uses fluids to circulate things throughout the body, including waste...

What I'm trying to say is, drinking more water will help you poo and stay away from constipation.

Drinking more water or even eating more foods with high water content (like fruits and vegetables) will make you feel full, more satisfied, & well nourished after each meal.

Be aware of what you're really drinking. Drinks like vitamin water are advertised as nutritional, and often seen as equivalent to water. Water is such a pure element - The other drinks have artificial flavours, colours, preservatives, sugars - the two are incomparable.

Plus, we are so blessed to have it readily available to us; let's take advantage.

Guac Cherry Toast

Another simple and tastey recipe!

What you'll need:
- Toast
- 1/2 mashed avocado (not in season but still good imo)
- 3 chopped cherry tomatoes
- Lime juice
- Onion (red, or here I didn't have red onions so I used green onions)
- Black pepper

How to:
Toast your toast the way you like it - I love it a bit crunchy. Next time you buy bread try different types like rye or multigrain not just plain white.

Mash the avocados, add in chopped cherry tomatoes and onions, freshly squeezed lime juice to taste (I used half a lime), and black pepper to taste.

Enjoy!

Complementary Recipe: Clean + Healthy

This isn't really a new recipe but complimentary to my previous recipe post.

Really simple:
- Take "Clean + Healthy Recipe"
- Fill toasted tortilla

You can buy packs of tortilla at any supermarket. The one I'm using is whole wheat.
To toast it you can use a toaster oven, fold it and pop it in your toaster, or right after you've cooked "Clean + Healthy Recipe" Use the same pan to toast your tortilla and insert the filling as you toast it - gives the tortilla more flavour.

You could even use roti, or naan as the wrap instead.
I usually eat this for a small meal with a side of fruits/veggies and lots of water.

Nice alternative if you're craving something like pizza...

Enjoy!

Detox Drink

I'll usually snack on fruits, nuts, biscuits - but after pigging out so much in my short trip to Chicago, my body definitely needs a good detox!

I replace my snacks with this simple drink:
- Carbonated water
- Small chunks of Grape Fruit

I find carbonated water helps my digestion and to burp, which is nice when you're feeling bloated.

Depending on my mood I'll use lemon or berries.
